Fearing reprisal, woman kills self

RAYAGADA: The woman, who dared to expose her husband’s nefarious activities and got him booked by the police, allegedly committed suicide at her home on Thursday.The victim, Manjushree Benia had reported about her husband Rajendra Guru’s alleged illicit affairs with scores of girls whom he used for making porn CDs to the town police on August 1.Basing on the FIR, IIC Prasant Bhupati raided the house and seized incriminating materials. They also arrested Rajendra Guru.“The woman was upset and perhaps feared reprisal (once her husband was out). We have seized her diary which contains details about her life since marriage,” said Bhupati. Police are investigating.
