THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The B Hridayakumari Committee, reviewing the Choice-Based Credit and Semester System (CBCSS) in the colleges, will hold its first sitting with the stakeholders on March 6. The committee will hold meetings at all the university headquarters in the state giving a chance to the colleges, managements, individuals and the organisations to appear before it and express their opinions. The first meeting will be held at the office of the Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Convener of the committee looking into the revamp, Lopez Mathew, said that stakeholders could drop in with suggestions for the revamp of the CBCSS. Though the new executive council of the KSHEC had made it clear that it had no intentions to do away with the CBCS system, the indications are that the system will not remain the same any longer after the revamp. According to sources, bringing about a common pattern in the examination and grading and a new method of internal mark assessment have also been given serious thoughts. The committee has to submit its report in three months.
