Fishing harbour techno-feasibility to be drafted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The techno-feasibility report for constructing a fishing harbour at Valiyathura will be drafted by December 31 and submitted to the State and Central Governments, it was decided at a meeting convened by Ports Minister K Babu.    The layout of the harbour has been prepared. The government will select the agency for conducting an environmental impact assessment this month itself. Bids have been invited from accredited agencies in this regard, Transport Minister and local MLA V S Sivakumar said. The Ports Department has been asked to include Poonthura and Valiyathura fishing harbour projects in the 12th plan proposals.
