New Delhi: Spiritual leader Bhayyuji Maharaj is understood to have submitted a fresh proposal to Anna Hazare to end the standoff between the fasting activist demanding a strong Lokpal Bill and the government.
The fresh proposal was sent across to Hazare late on Monday evening after Maharaj, who conducted parleys with the Gandhian and government, met with Union Ministers Kapil Sibal and Salman Khurshid in New Delhi, a close aide of Maharaj claimed.
The aide said the spiritual leader, who is said to be close to Hazare and several Maharashtra politicians, had a detailed meeting with the two ministers following which the fresh proposal was sent to the Gandhian.
Maharaj has not met Hazare personally on Monday.
The content of the proposal was not immediately known.
Earlier, sources in Team Anna said Hazare was unhappy with government involving Maharaj in the talks. Hazare even suggested that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should send his representatives for discussion on Jan Lokpal Bill.
Asked whether Maharaj sent any fresh proposal, Hazare's close aide Kiran Bedi told PTI, "No. No change in the situation. Government seems to be insensitive to Anna's health."
