New Delhi: The value of a good promotional drive has increased many times with the grand success of films like 'RA.One' and 'Bodyguard'. A well directed publicity has become the key factor in receiving initial eyeballs.
This trend has made life difficult for films with small budget and lesser known star cast. Their fate has become more dependent on the performances of relatively bigger films. 'Shakal Pe Mat Ja' is one such film whose showdown at the box office depends upon Rockstar's performance in its second week.
The makers of 'SPMJ' must be hoping for the Rockstar fever to get over by November 18 before the film's release.
The basic storyline of the film features four boys at the helm of affairs who get caught by the security personals in suspicion of being terrorists. The boys were arrested when they were filming an American Airlines plane during its landing, which they later claim to be captured for a documentary shooting.
The interrogation leads to some unexpected turns and twists in the tale. It gets revealed that the boys have been to Rashtrapati Bhawan (President's House) before coming to the airport. The suspicion thickens but the innocent expressions on boys' faces suggest something different.
Some Pakistani and Arabic porn films surface from one of the boys' bag and the sober questioning changes into hardcore interrogation.
Another member of the arrested group finds no fitting answer when a device resembling a bomb comes out of his bag. Not a single interrogator believes when he struggles hard to prove the device a part of his Physics project.
But the icing on the top is the fourth member whose face resembles with a most wanted terrorist. The fact that he does not carry any identity card or mobile phone makes the situation worse.
'Shakal Pe Mat Ja' is a film based on the concept of mistaken identity and confusions developed due to it.
The main star cast of the film includes Shubh, Pratik Katare, Saurabh Shukla, Raghuveer Yadav, Aamna Shariff and Chitrak Bandhopadyay.
Written and directed by Shubh, the film has the background music composed by the creative sound designer Amar Mohile.
Despite limited number of promos, 'Shakal Pe Mat Ja' has generated some curiosity in the minds of comedy lovers.
