SIRSI: A king size jackfruit grown in the farm of RR Hegde Bhairumbe near here is drawing the attention of many. The jackfruit weighing 24.5 kg is measuring 24x36 inches.
The flakes are hard and sweet. It is specially used for making chips and preparation of other jackfruit delicacies. Hegde said that the tree is of about 26yearold and yields about 2530 jack fruits, all of comparable sizes, every year. Being a rare variety, it is conserved in his farm, Hegde added.

However, it is very difficult to harvest such king size fruits from the tree, he said. Many such king size jackfruits fall on the ground on ripening every year.
