HYDERABAD: In tune with his promise to fill over one lakh posts by December this year, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy directed  senior officials concerned on Tuesday to fill up 1.16 lakh vacancies in government departments within the stipulated time in a transparent and corruption-free manner. The departments of education and home have the maximum number of vacancies.As part of the exercise, he wanted that an examination be held immediatlely for second phase of recruitment of sub-inspectors of police, including city cadre. Reddy reviewed the notification schedule and calendar, and department-wise vacancy position with chief secretary SV Prasad and other senior officials. It was decided to fill up 27,379 vacancies in education, 20,122 in home, 12,244 in energy and 10,306 in medical departments.  Notifications will also be issued in respect of 8,340 vacancies in revenue, 3,100 in panchayat raj, 3000 in engineering, 2,000 in excise and 29,509 in other departments making a total of 1.16 lakh vacancies. “Strict adherence to the time schedule without any postponements should be followed”, he noted.
