New Delhi: Justine Henin is the first to enter the semi-finals of the women's singles of the US Open at the Flushing Meadows.
The Belgian beat American Serena Williams in straight sets 7-6 (3), 6-1 in the quarter-finals.
The top seed did not look in any trouble against Serena and won the first set 7-6.
After that an an error-prone Serena did nothing to correct her game and won just one game in the second set. Henin is now one step away from making it to her third appearance at the US Open final
"Today I was leading, but I wasn't dominating the points and the rallies. So I was a bit concerned during the first set because I wasn't aggressive enough. Then from the tie-break until the end, I played unbelievable tennis. I've been aggressive like the No.1 player in the world, you know, just trying to dictate the points," Justine Henin later said.
"I really don't feel like talking about it, to be honest. I don't want to get fined. That's the only reason I came. I can't afford to pay the fines because I keep losing. Any more questions?" a sad Serena Williams said.
