CHENNAI: A five-member gang murdered a local history sheeter Jeyaganesh of Royapettah over previous enmity here on Tuesday evening.Police said Jeyaganesh, 35, was riding his two-wheeler when the gang intercepted him near his house and hacked him. He died on the spot. Police said Jeyaganesh was married to Ratina. A neighbour of the couple, Arun, had eloped with Ratina’s sister. Since then, Jeyaganesh had been lying in wait to take revenge on Arun. In the meantime, he had attacked and injured Arun’s friend Senthil. Police had arrested him and sent him to jail in connection with this case. He was released from jail just a few days ago. Police said that eight days ago, Jeyaganesh’s father died and Arun and his friends had come for final rites.
