PUDUCHERRY: District Collector P Mathew Sammuel issued strong warning to Hotels stating that the government would act tough on Hotels found indulging in prostitution. “Under Immoral tracking (Prevention) act 1956 it is a crime and the government will close down such hotels,” he said in a release on Monday.The government is also moving against the interim order given by the Madras HC staying the order of the closure of a hotel on such grounds.Recently closure notices had been issued to a Heritage hotel and two guest houses by the district collector after they were found linked to a prostitution racket involving a minor girl. The girl remains untraceable after the incident. The Guest houses have closed down while the hotel remain open subsequent to the stay order .
