New Delhi: The eighth edition of the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards, honouring the finest in Indian journalism in print and TV across languages, was held in the capital on Tuesday.
CNN-IBN received three awards in separate categories. CNN-IBN's Deepa Balakrishnan and Marya Shakil won the Ramnath Goenka Award under the Politics and Government category.
Karma Paljor of CNN-IBN won the On-The-Spot coverage Ramnath Goenka Award for reporting during the Cyclone Phailin. Vinayak Deepak Gaekwad from IBN Lokmat won the Ramnath Goenka Award for Sports Journalism, while Praveen Mudholkar won the prestigious award for business and economics journalism.
The Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards, instituted by the Ramnath Goenka Foundation to celebrate the legacy of the iconic founder of The Indian Express Group, recognise and honour excellence in journalism and showcase outstanding contributions and individuals every year.
