Our country is going through a period of heavy rains, a much-needed relief for the citizens. During this period, we may encounter several seasonal creatures, which reveal themselves for a short while. Local18 reports on a sighting of a rare creature, in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

For the past week, several parts of the state have been experiencing heavy rains. Amidst the downpour, the sightings of frogs on roads and houses are a common occurrence. The amphibians can mostly be found around ponds and streams.

Local18 reports on a rare type of frog, which was found in the village of Velerupadu, in the Eluru district of the state, creating a lot of buzz among the locals. A unique feature of that rare frog was that its skin was dotted. According to the report, it was a “sindoor-coloured” frog. Its unique colour became the main point of attraction for the locals, which was vastly different from ordinary frogs.

Talking to Local18, Babu, a teacher of Zoology at the Rajamahendravaram Arts College said that it is a rare species of frog. According to him, no appearance of the creature has been reported in the recent past.

Back in April, a rare species of frog made headlines on social media, for being one of the most expensive creatures to exist. The amphibian is known as the poison dart frog unique look and cost. It reportedly costs Rs 2 lakh. Its beautiful exterior and small size are just a ploy to attract. It has enough poison to kill ten human beings, which makes it one of the most poisonous organisms in the world.

It can be found in bright colours like yellow, black and green along with orange-hued spots on its back. The frog’s colours make it highly valuable, placed at second among frogs in the world.
