Given rising temperatures across Telangana, Sri Jyotirvastu Vidyapeetham, Sangareddy in Hyderabad has set up water booths in public places for the past 14 years to quench the thirst of people. For many years, the members of this voluntary organisation have been proving their humanity by setting up cooling water booths during the dry season and quenching people’s thirst. In addition, it also organises buttermilk distribution programs.
The Sri Jyotirvastu Vidya Peetham was established in Sangareddy, under which many utility programs are conducted. Recently, a petal shed was constructed near the new bus stand at Sangareddy and a cooling water booth was constructed. When the dry season comes, it is their common practice to set up a cooling water booth in the area. Keeping this in mind, the people going through this road quench their thirst here.
Moreover, it is mainly for travellers who quench their thirst here. For this reason, the Chairman said that they have been setting up a cooling water booth for the last 14 years.
Talking to Local 18, the residents said that the cooling water booth is organised every summer by Vidyapeetham in several wards of Sangareddy. It is a great initiative to quench the thirst of people through these cooling water booths.
Besides, the Sri Jyothirvastu Vidyapeetham constructed the Mahameru Temple. It organises various programmes every year involving the devotees. In an innovative approach, hundreds of devotees participated in the Rudra Bandhanam programme at the Jyothirvastu Vidyapeetham in 2022.
The organisers planned to involve the devotees in shifting the shilas from the basement of the temple to a height of 27 feet. The devotees gathered outside the temple and helped in shifting around 10,000 shilas to the upper part of the basement during the fourth phase of the construction of the temple.
