Bali: The first secretary at Indian embassy in Jakarta met underworld don Chhota Rajan in jail on Sunday. The visit came a few days after Rajan wrote to Indian authorities saying that the feared for his life.

He is the first Indian official to meet Rajan after the gangster was arrested last week. The official spent nearly 45 minutes with Rajan but the latter did not respond to his questions. During the meeting the official was constantly over the phone with higher officials.

Meanwhile, a team of Central Bureau of Investigation and Mumbai Police will reach Bali today to take Rajan's extradition procedure forward.

Earlier, Rajan had confirmed that he did not surrender and was taken into custody after landing in Bali from Australia. Rajan had added that he wanted to return to India and is unhappy with his detention in Bali. He also denied reports that he was en route to Zimbabwe.

Rajan had also claimed that he is not afraid of anyone. While entering a police lock up in Bali, Rajan said, "I am not afraid of anyone."

The arrest was made on a tip off from Australian police that 55-year-old Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje alias Mohan Kumar alias Chhota Rajan has flown from Sydney to Indonesia's popular tourist destination Bali.
