London: An Indian-origin man appeared in a British magistrate's court on Monday in connection with the alleged murder of a 48-year-old man.
Surjit Singh Sidhu, 48, from Huddersfield in Britain's West Yorkshire, was arrested on Friday and subsequently charged with the murder of Martin Ackroyd whose body was found in his flat, the Huddersfield Examiner reported Monday.
The victim, who was living at the flat for four months, was discovered dead by the police.
Sidhu will appear on Wednesday at Leeds Crown Court for another hearing, the report stated.
Earlier, a 30-year-old woman suspect was also arrested for the murder but was later released on bail.
