Jakarta: As many as three Indians were in top-five as Gaganjeet Bhullar and Shiv Kapur finished tied third while Anirban Lahiri was tied fifth at the Indonesian Masters here on Sunday.
Lee Westwood overcame fatigue to win his first title of the year. Kapur landed an eagle on the very last hole to card 67 and finish tied third at 12-under 276, while Bhullar shot 69 to finish likewise. Lahiri (69) was fifth at 11-under.
Bhullar, two-under after seven in third round when play was halted on Saturday, came back to complete his third round in seven-under 65, which helped him zoom up the leaderboard. He then added a 69 with three birdies and one bogey in the final round.
Bhullar, who won his first Asian Tour title in Indonesia in 2009, posted his fourth top-10 finish on the Asian Tour this year and was delighted with his battling performance.
"Indonesia is one of my favourite destinations. I won my first title here. Obviously when I play here I have a lot of positive memories. I'm quite confident my time to win will come really soon. I went through a slump last year but I guess that's part of the game and I'm over it," said 23-year-old.
Lahiri, three-under with 10 to play in third round, finished his penultimate round in 67, and then shot 69 in final round.
Kapur had a 70 in third round and followed that up with 67 in the final one. Among other Indians, Randhawa (72) finished in tied for 20th at five-under 283, while Sujjan Singh (70) was tied 29th at two-under 286. Himmat Rai (71) was further behind in even par 288 in tied 38th place and Ajeetesh Sandhu (75) was tied 49th. Rashid Khan (70) was tied 62nd and Shankar Das (75) was tied 67th.
World number three Lee Westwood, who took his 38th career victory, completed a marathon of 32 holes as he returned on Sunday morning to finish the third round before closing with a final round two-over-par 74 for a winning total of 16-under-par 272 at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club.
Two shots behind the winner Westwood was former Asian Tour number one Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand, who returned 67.
