The clash took place when the BJP supporters in their bid to undertake a law violation programme breached the first police barricade and advanced for the next in front of the district magistrate's bungalow in Barasat.
BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh, who was among those who led the rally, reportedly also sustained injuries.
