Protesting against the frequent cancellation of flights to the Gulf region by Air India, the Kerala Pravasi Sangham (KPS) on Monday organised a march and dharna in front of the Air India office at the international terminal of Cochin International Airport.
Inaugurating the agitation, K V Abdul Khader MLA said that curtailing services, as well as the frequent cancellation of flight services, had adversely affected NRKs who would come just for one-month leaves.
“Many of them face the trouble of not reporting for duty on time after their leave,” he said.
He added that the organisation would launch agitations if Air India and the Ministry of Civil Aviation do not refrain from curtailing services. KPS state executive committee member A C Anand presided over the protest meet. Ernakulam district secretary M U Ashraf and president K Moosa spoke.
