THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Inspired by the tremors within the CPM in various parts of the state, leaders of the erstwhile Left Coordination Committee (LCC) have decided to float a new political outfit that will accommodate left rebels and progressive individuals.Shoranur Municipal chairman M R Murali, who had taken on the CPM single-handedly in Shoranur, was in the district on Saturday to meet new CPM rebels in Venjarammoodu and Parassala.“We had a detailed discussion with CPM workers who had come out of the party in Venjarammoodu and those who are facing disciplinary action in Parassala. They are all supportive of the new movement,’’ said S Suseelan, CPM former district secretariat member, who had been an active worker of LCC. It is learnt that several CPM workers, who were victimised by the district leadership for the failure in Parassala, will come out of the party like the rebels in Venjarammoodu."We expect hundreds to come out of the CPM from other districts as well. They will join us for heralding a new movement that will expose the erosion of values suffered by mainstream political parties,’’ said Suseelan.Sources said that the LCC leaders expect Onchiyam comrades also to join their front. A state-wide convention of left rebels will be held in Shoranur in the last week of October. The name, flag, symbol and constitution of the new party will be decided by this convention.“It will be a totally democratic organisation that will accommodate progressive individuals and groups along with dissatisfied CPM workers,’’ M R Murali said. The informal meeting convened by Murali and Suseelan here on Saturday was attended by K Jayakumar, M Sarngadharan, G Mohankumar, K R Sukumaran, M R Mujeeb, O V Govindankutty and Anil.
