BANGALORE: A four-and half- year-old male leopard was rescued from a 40-50 feet deep well at Kanaganahalli village, Ramanagaram District, by the Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) officials on Tuesday. The officials suspect that the leopard must have entered the village from the forest area nearby.Speaking to TNIE, Assistant Director and Veterinarian, BBP, Dr B C Chittiappa said, “Children who were playing cricket around the well had spotted the leopard when they were searching for their ball in the morning. On getting the information we rushed to the spot and tranquilised the leopard.” The leopard was taken to the Muthathi Forest in the Kanakapura Wildlife Division.
