Turbhe: It was yet another attempt of crime against women as a woman was pushed off a local train in Turbhe, Maharastra by a chain snatcher.

The survivor is admitted to a hospital and is said to be in a critical condition. The railway police have lodged a FIR in the case.

There has been a sudden spurt in cases crime against women in Maharashtra. A few days ago, a 28-year-old was allegedly attacked at a suburban station by an unknown man using a sharp weapon. She was boarding a north-bound local train when she was attacked.

An American national was also attacked and robbed of her mobile phone in the ladies' compartment of a local train in Mumbai. The incident took place between Marine Lines and Charni Road stations of Western Railway when an unidentified man boarded the ladies compartment and tried to snatch the bag of Michelle Mark, a United States national, police said.

Last month, a 23-year-old photojournalist was gangraped by five men at Shakti Mills compund in Lower Parel of Central Mumbai. She was accompanied by a male colleague who was gagged and bound while she was raped.
