Man assaulted for protecting wife

COIMBATORE: In a shocking incident, a man who questioned two youth for misbehaving with his wife was beaten-up and left with bleeding injuries at Lanka Corner near Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, here on Sunday.Sadly, over a dozen people standing at the nearby shops remained mute spectators of the incident. No one was bold enough to intervene and save the man. The incident happened at around 5 pm, on Sunday, when a couple along with their child came out of CMCH, after seeing their relative, who was admitted in the hospital. Two youth misbehaved with the women. Angered by this, the woman’s husband questioned the youth and a fist fight ensued. The duo assaulted the man and caused bleeding injuries on his face. However, they caught one of the youth and handed him over to the police.The youth, Murugan from Ammankulam was taken to Race Course police station. The injured husband was admitted at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for treatment. Police are waiting for the husband to file a complaint against Murugan, before taking further action.
