BANGALORE: The sleuths of the Fraud and Misappropriation Squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested a person for allegedly selling pirated copies of national and international top bestsellers. The accused has been identified as Mohiddin Kunni, 27, who used stay at Hindustan Lodge in Gandhinagar. He was caught in front of a shop in Girish Complex in Gandhinagar, where he was selling the pirated copies of bestsellers. The police said that he was selling the pirated copies of bestsellers like The Alchemist, Imagining India, The Secret of Nagas, Chicken Soup for the Indian Romantic Soul and other books. The books were printed using low cost papers and wrappers and he used to sell them at discount prices claiming them as original copies. The police recovered 1,499 pirated copies of various books, a mobile phone and some cash from him. Now, the police are on the lookout for two others, Chetan and Dayananda, from whom the accused got the pirated books. A case has been registered in Upparpet police station and further investigations are on in this connection.
