Air India flight stowaway charged with criminal offence.

New Delhi: A man escaped detection and sneaked into an Air India flight in Medina in Saudi Arabia, officials say.

Habib Hussain, who works as a sweeper at the Medina airport, sneaked aboard the Air India flight from Medina to Jaipur and managed to hide in the toilet till the aircraft was midair.

On being discovered by the crew Hussain broke down and claimed he was escaping his employers who were exploiting him. He claims to be from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh and says that he went to Jeddah in search if a job a few months back.

An agent in Jeddah promised him a porter’s job at the Medina airport but later seized his passport and identification papers.

"My brother went to UAE through a travel agent Imran Haji. Imran had promised some other job to my brother, but he did not get that job. so My brother was deceived. My brother sold his land and paid Imran Rs 90,000 to the agent," Hussain's brother told CNN-IBN.

The Central Industrial Security Force, which is in charge of airport security, has filed a complaint against Hussain for entering the country illegally, said officials on Saturday.

"Investigations are going on into the matter," says SP Jaipur (East) Biju George Joseph.
