Masked Men Loot Hyderabad Jewellery Shop at Knifepoint | Watch Dramatic CCTV Clip

A CCTV footage from a jewellery shop in Hyderabad has caught people’s attention on social media as the dramatic clip shows three masked men looting the store at knifepoint.

The incident took place around 1:30 pm at the jewellery store in Akber Bagh in Chaderghat on Wednesday. The robbers reportedly decamped with gold ornaments weighing about 150 grams kept on display at the shop.

A report in Times of India quoted police as saying that at the time of the robbery only the owner’s son was at the store. The owner, Mohammed Ur Rehman, had gone out entrusting the shop to his son Shaji Ur Rehman, officers said.

Around 1.30pm, the robbers barged into the store, attacked Shaji, who fell down unconscious, and left with the jewellery on the bike they had come, the report stated.

Chaderghat SHO Y Prakash Reddy was quoted as saying that the accused must have observed the shop and found it an easy target as the victim was alone and there was also not much public movement.

According to NDTV, the footage shows a man wearing a cap and a mask first entering the shop and checking out some jewellery.

As the shopkeeper showed him ornaments, another man — wearing a cap and face covered with a cloth — barged into the shop and attacked him. The man can be seen climbing onto the counter and attacking the shopkeeper with a knife.

The report further stated that the shopkeeper has been admitted to hospital with knife-stab injuries and the police are on the lookout for the three men.
