Satnam Singh, 23, the Bihari youth who tried to create trouble in the Mata Amritanandamayi Math at Vallickavu the other day while the routine darshan of Mata was in progress, died at the Peroorkada Mental Health Hospital on Saturday.
According to police, the youth who fell unconscious in the evening was rushed to the Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead. Investigation is on to find the reason for the death. On August 1, Satnam Singh, who was seated at the far end of the darshan hall of the Math, barged into the ramp and ran towards the dais where Mata was giving darshan to devotees. When the Math security and policemen present at the darshan hall tried to stop him from entering the dais, he attacked them. A panic situation prevailed at the darshan hall for some time. He was admitted to the Peroorkada hospital following reports that he was mentally ill.
