Modi alleges political interference in RCA poll
Bureaucratic pressure is being created on all the DCA by the Rajasthan govt.

New Delhi: The upcoming elections to the faction-ridden Rajasthan Cricket Association today turned murkier with a district association supporting its President Lalit Modi complaining to the Supreme Court of interference of

the state government and its bureaucracy.

"It is submitted that a lot of political influence and bureaucratic pressure is being created on all the District Cricket Associations by the Rajasthan Government so as to create an atmosphere where free and fair elections are not possible without judicial interference," an application filed by District Cricket Association, Alwar, alleged.

The application was mentioned by senior advocate L Nageshwar Rao and Ankur Chawla before a Bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan which decided to hear it along with other matters relating to the RCA on Saturday.

The Alwar Association has alleged that the consitution of the RCA was changed in an arbitrary manner without any notice by Secretary Subhash Joshi in connivance with Devaram Chaudhary, a relative of Rajasthan Minister and IAS officer Sanjay Dixit, heading the Barmer District Cricket Association.

"The memorandum of rules, bye laws and regulations of RCA which were adopted in its special general meeting on January 27,2005 and ratified by Registrar on Apr 27, 2005 were unilaterlly replaced in a collusive manner in pursuance of a conspiracy hatched by the Secretary with Chaudhary, Dixit and

Registrar namely Mukesh Sharma within 24 hours," it said.
