Muzaffarnagar: The last rites of the IBN7 journalist Rajesh Verma, who was killed in the communal violence in Muzaffarnagar, were held on Sunday.
Verma and a photographer Israr, hired by police, were among those killed in the violence. Verma was shot dead while he was covering the arson in Muzzaffarnagar town. Police said investigation into his killing is on. However, they have not been able to pinpoint who killed him.
Expressing grief over the killing of Rajesh Verma, his friend said, "He used to always tell me that news and things related to his work were most important to him. I even spoke to him about not being a workaholic, but he was determined and hard working."
Meanwhile, Army on Sunday staged a flag march in riot-hit areas of Muzaffarnagar district where the toll in clashes between members of two communities rose to 21 even as 35 persons have been arrested for the violence.
