Police on Wednesday registered a case against 250 people for stone pelting and injuring three people during the incident in Muzaffarnagar.

Police on Wednesday registered a case against 250 people for stone pelting and injuring three people during the incident in Muzaffarnagar.

Among those who were booked, police named 30 people, including BJP activist Nitin Malik for pelting stones and blocking roads.

Three persons were injured on Tuesday when police tried to disperse a mob protesting against the arrest of a youth, allegedly involved in a gangrape case during the riots last year.

Police arrested Roki from Phugana village, following which irritated villagers resorted to stone pelting and gheraoed the police station. The irate villagers also tried to free the accused from the police, who took to lathicharge to disperse the crowd.
