Suspended Congress leader Natwar Singh on Thursday submitted his statement to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.

New Delhi: Two days after he was shown the door by the Congress Party, former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh on Thursday submitted his statement to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.

The statement was given to Rajya Sabha Secretary General Yogendra Narain, shortly before the Question Hour ended.

"I have given a statement to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat and it was for the Chairman to decide," Natwar Singh said. "You should see when I speak," Natwar Singh said when asked about contents of his statement.

Natwar had sought to table a privilege notice against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for leakage of the Pathak report.

Asked whether the statement would be taken up on Thursday, he quipped, "I hope so".

A meeting of the Business Advisory Council was convened to discuss the issue shortly after the House was adjourned amid uproarious scenes with opposition demanding the presence of the Prime Minister.
