Nazeer plays up religious sentiments

KOCHI: Raising religious sentiments, Thadiyantavida Nazeer quoted  the Holy Quran, “Allah is great, I believe in his judgment and I have no faith in this earthly court”  before the media, at the court room in Kochi on Thursday.Accused in the Kozhikode twin blast case, Nazeer and Shafas were presented before the special court under tight security.The armed police personnel led by Circle Inspector, Santhosh C R in two mini buses accompanied him to the court premises.Nazeer and Shafas looked confident and ready to face the judgment as they stood before the court. Dressed like a typical Afghan in Pathan dress and bandanna, the thickly bearded Nazeer stole the limelight. As even his family members were not permitted inside the court room because of security reasons, his relatives and friends who were bailed out in the case earlier waited outside.The court proceedings began by 2 p.m. and throughout this time Nazeer was chanting religious verses in the court room. While returning to the police bus, he shouted the religious verses loudly in front of the media. He also attempted to speak to the media from the bus.
