'Cruel And Insensitive': Brazilian Funk Star MC Livinho Criticised For Dancing At Bus Accident Site
The behaviour has attracted criticism from social media users, with many terming him as desperate to seek attention as he lacked compassion for those affected in the crash.

Brazilian funk artist MC Livinho was spotted dancing behind a TV reporter while she provided an update on a horrific bus accident. The incident occurred on the Via Dutra highway, involving a bus carrying members of an American football team. There were 43 people on board, three of whom died, and several passengers sustained various injuries.

While journalist Isabela Campos was reporting live from the scene, the influencer, who has over 13 million followers on Instagram, appeared right in the frame, dancing. Despite the chaos of screaming, rushing emergency responders, and an upturned bus in the background, Livinho was filmed smiling, waving at the camera, and dancing even after being asked by the crew to step out of the spotlight.

Sharing the video on Instagram, Daily Mail wrote, “A singer and social media influencer is facing widespread backlash after he was filmed dancing behind a television reporter at the scene of a deadly bus crash in Brazil.”

The behaviour has attracted criticism from social media users, with many of them terming him as desperate to seek attention as he lacked compassion for those affected in the crash. The viewers raised doubts about Livinho’s understanding of the severity of the situation.

A user even labelled him “cruel and insensitive.”

“Desperate for attention. Time and place, My dude”, said another.

Another mentioned, “People want fame so much that they are losing compassion and common sense.”

A user went on to ask, “Did he know that people passed away?! Someone may just be thoughtless at the moment to look at the bigger picture.”

In response to the backlash, Livinho made an apology stating that he did not know how serious the accident was at that time. He said he believed it was just a car accident and offered his sympathy to the victims. Dexerto quoted him saying, “We didn’t know that any accident had happened. I want to express my condolences for the loss you had, right? Because now that I went online, I saw fans saying, ‘It was an accident.’ So, my condolences to everyone”.

Once more, his apologies drew criticism for being fake, with many seeing it as a feeble attempt to restore his reputation.

MC Livinho is one of the most well-known and popular musicians in Brazil on social media, with 13.4 million Instagram followers.
