HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan on Saturday inaugurated a new cancer institute of Yashoda Group of Hospitals at Malakpet. The institute will draw together world-class technology, medical expertise and research to provide the best results for cancer patients. It is equipped with the world’s latest Varian RapidArc Linear Accelerator, accompanied by the most sophisticated 3D planning systems. It will also offer advanced diagnostics systems including invasive diagnostics, out patient and inpatient chemotherapy, non-chemotherapy (biologic) drugs, radical/supra radical & minimally invasive cancer surgery, palliative care, and other related cancer care needs. The Department of Medical Oncology at Yashoda Cancer Institute, Malakpet is equipped with a chemotherapy unit for treating solid tumors as well as blood cancers, backed by an extensive blood bank. Plans for setting up a bone marrow transplant centre is also in the pipeline.The department also boats of HEPA filtered operation theaters, advanced laparoscopic equipments, harmonic scalpel and afrozen section facility, which will help them in providing the most comprehensive cancer care for the patient. “The new addition at Malakpet underlines our commitment to offer quality healthcare service and excel in what we do.
