KOCHI: The Ernakulam General Hospital, which already has a sophisticated Dietary Kitchen, will soon have a canteen with all modern facilities. MLA Hibi Eden laid the foundation stone for the canteen on Monday.The canteen is constructed at an estimated cost of `21 lakh, District Collector P I Sheikh Pareeth said. Of the total cost, `11 lakh comes from the Hibi Eden’s MLA Development Fund and `10 lakh from Ludy Luiz’s MLA Development Fund.The canteen is expected to be completed in three months. Hospital Superintendent Dr M I Junaid Rahman said that the government had sanctioned `2 crore for the development activities of the hospital and `50 lakh for TB treatment.
