According to reports, the aspirants reached KV in Rohini for their exam, but were shocked to know that it had been shut down 10 years ago.

New Delhi: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Friday issued notice to Delhi's Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University for an anomaly in its admission exams in which aspirants were allotted an examination centre which had been shut for the past 10 years.

"Seventy aspirants to the engineering programme of the varsity lost nearly an hour because of this goof up. No extra time was given to them," said an official of NHRC.

"Notices have been issued to the vice chancellor and the controller of examinations, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, calling for reports within two weeks," he added.

According to media reports, the aspirants reached Kendriya Vidyalaya in Sector 22 in Rohini for their exam on May 19, but were shocked to know that it had been shut down 10 years ago.

"With about 10 minutes to go to the start of the exam scheduled for 2.00 pm, worried parents called up the university officials and were told to rush to the Maharaja Agrasen College, which is affiliated to the varsity. In the process, some students lost nearly an hour and reached the venue at 3.00 pm," said the official.
