RAMANATHAPURAM: A lawyer suffered serious injuries after he was allegedly attacked by a trio, at the Santhaivalian temple area on Sunday.According to the police, Priya of Chattrakudi, a nurse by profession, called Kaliswaran of Pandiyur, an acquaintance, and asked him to come to the Santhaivalian temple area near Chattrakudi. However, when Kaliswaran, a lawyer, reached the spot, two persons suddenly overpowered him, while Priya slit his neck with a sharp weapon. The trio then fled the spot.Kaliswaran, who suffered a severe neck injury in the attack, was subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital.Based on his complaint, the police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the attackers. The police said, Priya was in relationship with Kaliswaran.Meanwhile, he severed her relationship due to some reasons a few months ago.
