Tourism Minister A P Anilkumar inaugurated the painting exhibition, ‘Gitanjali - Tribute to Tagore’ by Chief Secretary K Jayakumar at the Durbar Hall Art Centre here on Tuesday. Hibi Eden MLA presided over the function.The catalogue about the paintings was released by C N Karunakaran. Deputy Mayor B Bhadra, K Jayakumar, Palette People secretary Cyril P Jacob, Kerala Sahitya Akademi secretary R Gopalakrishnan, S Gopakumar, C Radhakrishnan spoke.
This is the seventh painting exhibition of K Jayakumar. Acrylic and oil paintings are displayed at the exhibition. Through 14 paintings in the Gitanjali series, Jayakumar explores the visual possibilities of the Rabindranath Tagore’s famous book Gitanjali. The exhibition is open to the public from 11 am to 7 pm.
