Peshawar/New Delhi: Pakistan woke up to the horror of another terror attack on Tuesday night when a suicide blast left the five-star hotel Pearl Continental in ruins in Peshawar.

Three attackers, captured on CCTV footage are seen shooting their way through the gate of Peshawar's Pearl Continental Hotel. They stormed into the hotel in a truck laden with 500 kg of explosives.

The ease with which all this happened, authorities say could not have been without the help of an insider.

“No final report is available yet. Somebody from the hotel might be involved,” says Northwest Frontier Province (NWFP) senior minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour.

Like the Marriot the target of the attack once again were foreigners, including two UN officials. Reportedly, an American Consulate was also to arrive at the hotel.

The police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.

“These people who come from outside to work for us here are our guests. And if any harm is done to them here, it brings a bad name to us,” says Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Khalid Khan.

“The government can safeguard the people. If it can fight against India and other countries, it can easily defeat a handful of terrorists. This is just a conspiracy in connivance with America,” says a college student Kaleem Ullah.

Though no group has claimed responsibility but the Taliban is under the scanner. The militant group had warned of retaliatory attacks if the military operation in Swat continues.
