BANGALORE: A retired engineer has filed a petition before the Lokayukta Special Court against H D Balakrishna Gowda, the eldest son of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, over charges of corruption. He alleged Balakrishne Gowda of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income when he was a KAS officer. S N Balakrishna, a retired engineer with Bhadravathi Iron Ore Company, has filed a private complaint and levelled corruption charges against Balakrishne Gowda under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Judge K N Sudindra Rao said that he will pronounce a decision over admission of the complaint on September 24. Gowda, who retired in 2005, has been accused of possessing assets worth Rs. 10 crore with an annual income of Rs. 10 lakh before his retirement.
