Police unearth illegal gutkha factory, one arrested

A factory involved in manufacturing duplicate gutka of famous brands was unearthed by police with the arrest of a person in Burra area here in Kanpur, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided a house at Vishwa Bank colony here Saturday night and arrested Pappu Verma from the spot, he said.

However, main accused Nagendra Chandel and Mahendra Yadav gave a slip to the police team and fled the spot, he said.

Police have recovered around 100 kg duplicate gutka, empty sachet of famous brands and raw materials, he said.
