BANGALORE: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president Dr G Parameshwar has charged that the House Committee consituted by Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah to probe the porngate scandal is interested only in shielding the tainted BJP MLAs. “Slinging mud on the media personnel who exposed the ruling party members’ shameful act will be of no good,” he added. Reacting to BJP MLA Nehru Olekar — also a member of the house panel — comment that Opposition party members too were viewing the sleaze clippings, he averred: “Our apprehensions that the committee was formed to bail out the tainted ministers is proving right.” He opined that the Speaker instead of forming the committee should have sacked the MLAs for lowering the dignity of the house by viewing the obscene clips, that too while session was in progress. “The committee is only trying to paint the Opposition black for a sin which they have committed,” Parameshwar asserted. He also denied that Opposition members were watching the porn clippings. “If the BJP desires to redeem the dignity of the Assembly, it should expel the tainted members from party.”
