TIRUCHY: The Commissioner of Police here on Tuesday conducted inquiries on the complaint filed by GR Suresh Kumar, alleging that the DMK headquarters here had encroached his land for parking of vehicles. During the inquiry Suresh Kumar produced the original documents in support of his claim.The Deputy Mayor Anbalagan belonging to the DMK, along with a team of advocates arrived at the Commissioner’s office and said that the Kalaignar Arivalayam had not encroached any private land and the particular land referred by Suresh Kumar had not been used by Arivalayam.The advocates, who accompanied him, said the disputed road was laid by the corporation and the party office was not using it. They gave a written statement saying that the DMK headquarters had no claim over it and they had objections if the road was restored to any private party.The CoP said the records were being verified and the corporation would also be approached on the issue, for the retrieval of the land. ‘If the documents submitted by the petitioner was genuine, we will definitely retrieve the land to the owner’.Suresh Kumar had submitted a petition on Monday that his land was being used by the DMK headquarters for parking their vehicles and the residents of the area were not allowed to use the pathway.Suresh Kumar charged that Rajagopal, a businessman close to former minister KN Nehru’s brother Ramajayam and Selvendran, brother-in-law of DMK strong man, Kudamuritti Sekar had claimed that the land belonged to them and threatened the petitioner with dire consequences.
