BANGALORE: The High Court on Wednesday stayed the proceedings of the Lokayukta into a private complaint on charges of corruption against H D Balakrishne Gowda, the eldest son of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, for eight weeks.Hearing an interim application filed by Gowda at Special Lokayukta court, a single bench headed by Justice B V Pinto while passing the interim order observed that on perusal of material furnished by the petitioner, the investigation ordered by the Special Lokayukta Court needed to be stayed for eight weeks.Justice Pinto also ordered notices on the respondents and the Lokayukta police.Senior counsel for the petitioner Uday Holla submitted that the complainant was an RSS worker and had served as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to then chief minister B S Yeddyurappa during March 29, 2011, to September 19, 2011, following which he filed the complaint against Gowda with “malafide intention”.Justice Pinto stated that the complaint is politically motivated.Gowda is facing charges of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income
