Proceedings against Sun TV MD stayed

CHENNAI: The Madras HC on Thursday stayed proceedings pending against Kalanidhi Maran, MD, Sun Pictures Private Limited, before the XIII Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore in the Tamil film 'Enthiran' case.
Justice CT Selvam, who granted the reflief, dispensed with the appearance of Maran before the Magistrate in future. Aarur Tamilnadan, subeditor, Nakkheeran Publications, lodged a plaint against Maran and director S Shankar alleging that they had stolen his story for Enthiran. A case had been pending before the XIII Metropolitan Magistrate and the same was pending. Hence, he could not initiate criminal proceedings in the lower court, the petitioner said
