TIRUNELVELI: Koodankulam Nuclear Power Project workers have alleged that a group of anti-Koodankulam protesters threatened them using abusive language while they were returning from work on Wednesday night.A functionary of the Koodankulam Nuclear Plant Employees Union said that around 120 workers were going to the plant daily in two shifts, monitored by revenue and police officials. “The VAO was not present on Wednesday around 10.30 pm when we were returning from work in two mini buses. About 15 anti-Koodankulam protesters, led by Struggle Committee member Sivasubramanian, intercepted us. They came inside the temporary fencing of the plant and used obscene language. We have lodged a complaint with the management,” he said.A senior official of the KKNPP told Express on Wednesday, “We have informed the district authorities.”When Express contacted Sivasubramanian, he said, “The KKNPP officials asked us to permit 10 people from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board inside the plant, but we declined. So they are making false charges against us,” he added.
