BANGALORE: The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) submitted a 14point memorandum to Maheshwar Rao, IAS, Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director of Industries and Commerce to provide better infrastructure for the medium and small scale industries sector.
KASSIA invited the newly appointed commissioner to discuss the conditions of the MSME sector.Some of the demands in the memorandum included the abolition of trade licenses and implementation of a moderate rate of property tax.

Also, they requested for Solid Waste Disposal tax to be waived off for the MSME sector, as come under Pollution Control Board. Highlighting the need for more industrial estates and better infrastructure management, Prakash N Raikar said that infrastructure development should be arranged for old and new industrial estates through KSSIDC and KIADB.

He also said that private participation must be encouraged to set up industrial estates.

Finally, they also sought the announcement of an exit policy for the MSME sector.
