CHENNAI: “Good managers must be able to look back and retain lessons they have learnt along the way. That is the best way forward,” Indian Overseas Bank CMD M Narendra told management students at the valediction of the two-day management summit.The speakers dwelt on the theme of the event - Praachamanyu - a Sanskrit word meaning ‘looking back to move forward.’ Unable to attend the function, Narendra’s message to the management students was read out by IOB GM Rangarajan, in the presence of Bharathidasan University Vice Chancellor K Meena and BIM Director Balabhaskar.Rangarajan asserted about how students should recall and retain values. On the other hand, Bharathidasan University Vice Chancellor Meena urged students to be trailblazers even as they looked back. She listed innvoations and initiatives offered by the university, noting that they would soon open a centre for innovative studies. The function on Sunday evening marked the end of BIM’s annual two-day conclave called Crescita. The event featured lectures and panel discussions by a number of eminent speakers, economists and managers.
