RAICHUR: The state government has released Rs. 1,002 crore for filling up potholes on roads and Suvarna Gram Scheme, Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda said.The CM told press persons here on Thursday that, the funds would be sufficient to fill up potholes in the state. Gowda was here to participate in organic farming programmes at Gudihal and Gunda villages of Sindhanur taluk. He promised that the administration would be fully functional within three months. All steps would be taken to streamline the administration, he said. “The applications from the people should be sorted out within 15 days of receiving them. Stern action will be taken against those who violate this direction,” he warned. He said for the inauguration of the government programmes, the officials need not to wait for him. “They can invite the district-In-charge minister or local legislator for inauguration,” Gowda said. The CM said the rainfall in the district was 100 mm less than that in previous year. “We will wait 15 more days and after reviewing the situation, a decision will be taken on declaration of drought. There is no dearth of fertilisers in the district. The demand for the fertiliser is 1.45 metric tonne and 1.12 metric tonne is supplied.” he said. The CM said that under the Suvarna Bhoomi Scheme, 12,815 beneficiaries had been allotted Rs. 6.04 crore. The district needs 12,815 houses under the Aasare Scheme and so far 8,500 houses had been constructed. “We have asked philanthropists to complete the remaining houses by the end of October,” he said.
