Saina pulls out of Indian Open

Hyderabad: India's badminton star Saina Nehwal has pulled out of the ongoing Indian Open with an ankle injury she sustained during her title win at the Hong Kong Super Series.

"The injury happened while playing the final of the Hong Kong Super Series. I experienced a jerk on my right ankle in the third game," Saina said. "I experienced pain while practicing on Wednesday morning."

Defending champion Saina was the top seed in the tournament.
