New Delhi/Mumbai: Abu Salem is singing, or is he? Both Mumbai and Delhi were abuzz today with rumours that he's dropping big names.
According to CBI sources, Salem has told CBI interrogators that he not only knows Sanjay Dutt but that Dutt was also used by Mumbai underworld to supply arms to gangsters in the city.
Sources in Mumbai also claim that Salem might think of turning into an approver for the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
But that, the sources say, can only happen after CBI files a supplementary chargesheet and declares him an accused. It will also depend on whether CBI wants him to turn approver or not.
But CBI has refuted the claims saying Salem can?t become an approver as they already have two approvers in the case.
Sources in the CBI say they would rather incriminate and try Salem in the case as getting their hands on Dawood is remote.
Salem has not made any confessional statements till now.
